The 2024 Tesla Model X is one of the most futuristic EVs in the segment, whether it is design, features, or engineering. Recently, I came across a Stealth Grey sample on display, flaunting its most appealing exterior feature – Falcon Wing doors. Here are my observations:
Exterior
Stealth Grey is not a typical flat grey. Based on what I saw, this color exhibits subtle shifts in appearance depending on the surrounding lighting. In soft/indoor lighting (as seen in our pictures), it almost appears black, but the color comes to life in daylight where it feels like a darker shade of grey. I’d imagine that the Stealth Grey is for buyers who like to add a mysterious or sporty overtone to their car, but don’t prefer the Solid Black.
The 2024 Tesla Model X may look more like a raised sedan than an SUV, but its exterior has a wow factor none of its competitors offers – Falcon Wing doors. These split gull-wing doors, used in the rear, make ingress and egress easy, especially for tall passengers like me.

If a vehicle is in a tight parking space, side-opening doors may not have enough room to open, or at least not enough to comfortably let the passengers enter or exit the vehicle. However, that’s not the case with Falcon Wing doors. Moreover, securing a kid in the child seat is also easy as there’s more headroom available when the doors are open. The driver’s door swings open automatically when the driver approaches with a phone key or a fob. The Stealth Grey sample seen here features 20-inch Cyberstream wheels, but 22-inch Turbine wheels are available for an additional USD 5,500.

On the inside
The 2024 Tesla Model X has a low-profile and high-tech interior. When I sat in the car, its sleek dashboard and all-glass roof provided me with an airy feeling. I think these elements and the Cream color scheme with walnut wood trim endow it with a luxurious vibe. This interior color scheme and decor come bundled as an option for an additional USD 2,000. Another optional feature I like in this unit is a 2+2+2 seating layout with captain’s chairs in the second row. This option adds USD 6,500 to the MSRP.
This 2024 Tesla Model X features a yoke steering, which is an option worth USD 1,000, and I think it’s core to the futuristic vibe in the cabin. Other premium technologies of the electric SUV include a 12.3-inch virtual instrument cluster, a 17-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a dual wireless smartphone charger, an 8-inch rear touchscreen, and a 22-speaker audio system.
Powertrain & Range
The 2024 Tesla Model X has a 670-hp dual-motor powertrain that gives it all-wheel drive capability and lets it accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds. Its top speed is also impressive – 155 mph. The 2024 Model X supports charging at up to 250 kW, and Tesla says it can add up to 171 miles of range in 15 minutes. On a full charge, the 2024 Model X delivers an EPA-estimated range of 335 miles (19-inch wheels)/322 miles (22-inch wheels).
