2024 Hyundai Ioniq 6 spotted in the rare ‘Digital Green’ body color

The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 6 is available in seven colors here in the U.S., and there’s one that gives it an incredibly premium look, much like that of a luxury product. It’s the ‘Digital Green,’ and when I viewed an example in this color recently, I noticed that it’s so dark that it could easily be mistaken for black in certain low-light conditions. I think this shade reflects the 2024 Ioniq 6’s premium positioning in the Hyundai line-up in a low-key manner.

It’s interesting to note that the Digital Green also comes with a Matte finish overseas. However, here in the U.S., this paint is a glossy finish, which changes based on the lighting conditions. In a matte paint, the light does little to influence the car’s look, and the design lines aren’t pronounced.

Green is commonly associated with envy, but also with nature and eco-friendliness, which I’m sure the Hyundai marketers feel aligns with the Ioniq 6 being an EV. The pearlescent effect contributes to the richness and depth of the green too, and unlike in a matte finish, fingerprints or dirt doesn’t tend to show clearly. For those interested, Gravity Gold is the sole matte finish here in the United States.

The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 6 features an offbeat shape that significantly contributes to its low drag coefficient of 0.21 Cd. That, along with the pixelated lights, the 20-inch aero wheels, and the elliptical wing-inspired spoiler that integrates a transparent high-mounted stop lamp, lends the car a striking look.
