The Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Woodland Edition, the company’s inaugural hybrid off-road special edition SUV, has returned for the 2024 model year. This time around, it packs some extra features to serve its purpose better.
I saw the 2024 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Woodland Edition in person recently and took the opportunity to explore its specialties and changes for the new model year in detail. Here’s what I discovered:
Design

The RAV4 Hybrid Woodland Edition has received two dual-tone color schemes with the MY2024 update: Army Green/Midnight Black Metallic and Ice Cap/Midnight Black Metallic.
The vehicle I saw was finished in the Army Green/Midnight Black Metallic combination, and I felt that it elevated the model’s appeal by a big margin. I think it’d perfectly blend in the forest roads and reminds me of my best camping trips. The 18-inch, six-spoke bronze-colored TRD flow-formed alloy wheels, which come wrapped in Falken Wildpeak AT tires, look even more stylish because of this color scheme.

The 2024 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Woodland Edition offers more utility than the previous model, as it comes fitted with an activity mount. I think that’s quite a useful upgrade, as it’d allow me to conveniently mount my bike on a rack at the back of the SUV and carry it on camping trips. Dual black chrome-tipped exhaust, black badges and accents, and unique raised black roof rails are also among the exterior highlights of the special edition SUV.
Interior

The 2024 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Woodland Edition can be ordered with an optional weather package for more comfort in the cold weather and increased convenience when it rains. This package includes a heated steering wheel and front seats and rain-sensing variable intermittent windshield wipers with a de-icer function. As I said in my first look review of the 2024 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid XSE, the interior is comfortable but has some room for improvement.
Specifications
The 2024 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Woodland Edition has a 2.5-liter engine and two permanent magnet synchronous motors, one of which powers the rear wheels when there’s a need to improve grip and stability. This combination results in 219 combined horsepower. The hybrid SUV has an EPA-estimated fuel economy rating of 38 MPG (city)/35 MPG (highway)/37 MPG (combined).
