Just a few weeks after the official reveal of the VinFast VF32, TopElectricSUV has obtained patent pictures that detail every angle of its exterior. VinFast has confirmed the launch of the VF32 in the United States.
The black and white pictures from the patent filing actually give a clear view of the VinFast VF32’s sculpted body. The front-end is particularly interesting, with a low and flat bonnet that smoothly slopes down to meet the two-tier headlamps and a low-profile nose cone. It lends a very ‘European’ look to the Vietnamese electric SUV.
VinFast VF32 design & dimensions
The sides are designed quite normally, and it’s evident that the VinFast VF32 isn’t a futuristic dedicated EV but an ICE-EV conversion. It’s a typical crossover profile and proportions with a mildly sloping roofline, sleek greenhouse, and rakish A- and C-pillars. The charging port is located on the left side fender. The rear fascia is quite reminiscent of the Kia Sonet because of the tail lamps. Up top, there’s a panoramic sunroof which we didn’t get to see in the photos released last month.
Images don’t do justice to the dimensions of the VinFast VF32. At 4,750 mm (187.0 inches), it’s exactly as long as the Tesla Model Y. Yet, the wheelbase, measuring 2,950 mm (116.1 inches), is longer than that of the Tesla Model Y (113.8 inches). The powertrain and battery pack specs are also promising.
VinFast VF32 interior & performance
The interior of the VinFast VF32 has a minimalist theme with a low-profile dashboard, center console, and floor console. A huge 15.4-inch display has been placed above the noticeably thin central AC vents, and it combines infotainment and climate controls. The individual drive selectors on the floor console are an interesting touch, and there’s a rotary dial behind, probably to select the driving modes.
The base VinFast VF32 has one motor, which generates 150 kW (201 hp) and 320 Nm (236 Lb.-Ft.). The top-end VinFast VF32 has two motors that generate double the base configuration’s power and torque: 300 kW (402 hp) and 640 Nm (472 Lb.-Ft.). The most interesting is the top-end configuration that has a four-wheel drive layout. As for the battery pack capacity and range, the best figures are 90 kWh and 504 km (313 mi). Detailed specs will emerge closer to the launch.
VinFast VF32 USA launch
VinFast plans to start taking orders for the VF32 in Vietnam this September and begin its deliveries in February next year. In the U.S., the launch will take place in November, and the deliveries will start in June next year.
