The 2026 Toyota Camry Hybrid enters its second model year of the ninth-generation with visible lineup and appearance updates, but no design or mechanical changes. The most notable addition in the hybrid-only sedan for 2026 is the new Nightshade Edition, positioned between the SE and XSE.
For 2026, Toyota also adds Dark Cosmos as a new exterior color on SE, XLE, and XSE grades. We recently spent some time with the SE variant finished in the Ice Cap color, and here is what we found.
Design

For 2026, the new Nightshade Edition replaces the prior appearance package with a standalone trim featuring dedicated blackout-focused exterior elements, which include 19-inch black-finished alloy wheels, gloss black exterior badging, black grille elements, black mirror caps, black door handles, black side canards, black rocker trim, a black rear diffuser, and a black rear spoiler.
Besides that, there are no body changes for the new model year. At the front, the 2026 Toyota Camry adopts a wide, low-mounted grille integrated into a hammerhead-style fascia. Slim C-shaped LED headlamps are positioned at the outer edges and connect visually with the upper grille line.
The front bumper features sculpted corner sections, with trim-specific finishes for grille surrounds and lower inserts.

Viewed from the side, the Camry retains a long-wheelbase sedan proportion with a gently sloping roofline and a defined shoulder line that runs from the front fender through the rear door. Wheel designs vary by trim, with alloy sizes ranging from smaller 16-inch multi-spoke units on the LE to 18-inch units on the SE and XLE, while larger 19-inch units are standard on the Nightshade and XSE trims.
The rear features wide-set C-shaped LED taillamps connected by a horizontal light trim element. The trunk lid incorporates an integrated lip spoiler on SE, Nightshade, and XSE trims. Color options vary by trim, with Nightshade getting three options, while LE gets seven options and SE and XLE get eight options each, and finally the XSE getting twelve options owing to the dual-tone availability.
Interior

The interior of the existing trims remains unchanged for 2026, with the new Nightshade Edition using black SofTex-trimmed seating with contrast accents like the SE.

The XSE retains leather-trimmed seating with patterned perforations in Black with blue accents or Cockpit Red. XLE continues with leather and Dinamica microfiber upholstery in Light Gray or Black.
Driver information on the LE, SE, and Nightshade Edition is displayed via a 7-inch digital gauge cluster, while XLE and XSE use a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and offer an available 10-inch head-up display.

Infotainment is handled by an 8-inch touchscreen on LE, SE, and Nightshade trims, with a 12.3-inch screen available as an option on SE and Nightshade and standard on XLE and XSE. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto remain standard, with five USB ports across all trims.
Specifications

The Camry Hybrid continues with the fifth-generation Toyota Hybrid System paired with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and an electronically controlled CVT. Output remains unchanged at 225 horsepower on front-wheel-drive models and 232 horsepower on Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive models, which are available across all trims.
The LE FWD grade achieves a manufacturer-estimated 51 MPG combined rating, while the LE AWD gets 50 MPG. All other FWD trims get 47 MPG, while AWD trims get 46 MPG, except for the XSE AWD, which gets 44 MPG.
