The 2024 Toyota Tundra Hybrid Capstone is Toyota’s most expensive truck

Update (April 21, 2024): The article has been updated with first-hand experiences of the truck’s interior and exterior.

The 2024 Toyota Tundra Hybrid is available in a wide range of configurations with different capabilities, performance levels, and features. Its top-end trim, called Capstone, is designed for maximum style and comfort. Recently, I saw a Wind Chill Pearl 2024 Toyota Tundra Hybrid Capstone and took the opportunity to explore its exterior and interior in detail. Here’s what I think about the most expensive Toyota truck in the U.S.:

Design

The 2024 Toyota Tundra Hybrid Capstone features a shinier exterior for a more luxurious and elegant appearance. I think the white paint and color-keyed front grille frame and overfenders help it look clean, too. The front grille has chrome inserts, and the door handles, mirror caps, and bumper garnish also have a chrome finish. Moreover, the window trim is partly finished in chrome.

In my opinion, the most attractive and distinctive exterior feature of the 2024 Tundra Hybrid Capstone is the 22-inch dark chrome alloy wheels. As for paint consistency and thickness, I felt that these were of the usual Toyota standards, but the Wind Chill Pearl lent it a premium look under the lights. The hybrid truck includes power running boards and a powered bed step, improving accessibility.

Interior

Toyota has taken what is a work truck and aggrandized it with the feel of a premium product. It includes exclusive features for higher comfort and convenience and a sense of luxury, such as a polyurethane-trimmed steering wheel and semi-aniline leather-trimmed 10-way power-adjustable front seats with 4-way adjustable lumbar support. The dashboard has been embellished with a backlit Capstone badge on the passenger side, and the floor mats also feature a Capstone inscription.

My favorite interior exclusive in the 2024 Tundra Hybrid Capstone is acoustic laminated side windows. I think I’d really appreciate the additional sound-deadening measure on long journeys. I like the American Walnut inlays as well, as they give the interior a rich look.

When I sat in the driver’s seat, I first checked for all-around visibility, and I feel like this truck is the best in its class in this aspect. The four-spoke leather wrapped steering wheel with electrically adjustable column felt quite robust to grip.

Despite being 6-feet tall, my head was nowhere close to the headliner. The lumbar support was excellent and the same can be said of the under-thigh support. Toyota has designed the seats and controls for long haul trips and there can be really no complains about the comfort they offer.

Exiting the drivers seat is made easy by the grab handle on the A Pillar. In the second row, sitting right behind the driver’s seat that was adjusted for a six-foot-tall person, I had adequate legroom and abundant knee room. I felt the default angle of the backrest was ideal for me. A recline function wasn’t available. No complaints on the under-thigh support, whereas headroom was just adequate, due to the glass roof taking up some of the available resource.
