The 2024 Toyota Sequoia Hybrid is the Japanese automaker’s mightiest SUV in the U.S, engineered for big families who like adventures. Built in San Antonio, Texas, it’s America’s alternative to the global Toyota Land Cruiser 300. Recently, I saw a 2024 Toyota Sequoia Hybrid in the feature-loaded Platinum grade, and it looked absolutely stunning, helped largely by the Blueprint paint.
Design
The 2024 Toyota Sequoia Hybrid looks like an authentic SUV, thanks to its classic shape and design cues like the assertive radiator grille, high and muscular hood, T-shaped headlights, and beefy wheel arches. When I saw the sequential turn indicators of the Platinum grade’s headlights, they gave me the impression of looking at a luxury SUV. However, I felt that the design of the 20-inch wheels was nothing out of the ordinary, and Toyota designers can do better in wheel design.
I can tell you that Blueprint is a deep and rich color, unlike a flat blue, and this lends the Sequoia luxurious vibes. The dark blue pairs neatly with the chrome grille and squared body panels, exuding a premium look. I would also say that this darker selection makes the Sequoia seem less bulky. Moreover, the flakes in the paint make the SUV appear different depending on the conditions. It looked quite different when I viewed it indoors under the spotlights in Buffalo, compared to its appearance on a sunny day in Dallas.

Interior
When I sat in the 2024 Toyota Sequoia Hybrid, I liked how the interior was simple and focused more on utility than style, but at the same time, not lacking modern creature comforts. The truck-like hefty dash and center console reminded me that I was seated in a big body-on-frame SUV.
The Platinum grade comes with 10-way power-adjustable driver’s and front passenger seats with 4-way power-adjustable lumbar support, manually reclinable captain’s chairs in the second row, and 60/40 split third-row seat with a power reclining function. My favorite features of the Platinum are the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, three-zone automatic climate control system, and the 360-degree camera system.
Specifications
Powering the 2024 Toyota Sequoia Hybrid is the i-Force Max hybrid powertrain that combines a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine with an electric motor. A 10-speed automatic transmission is standard, while a part-time 4WD system is available. The hybrid powertrain produces 437 hp and 583 lb.-ft. and returns an EPA-est. combined fuel economy of 22 MPG (2WD)/20 MPG (4WD). This Blueprint unit has been specified with the part-time 4WD system.
