2024 Toyota Land Cruiser (Hybrid) reveals its adventurous spirit in Trail Dust

The 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser will begin rolling into U.S. dealerships in the spring, and currently, it’s on a big marketing campaign. Toyota is showcasing the hybrid off-road SUV at various public events in America before shipping it to dealers. I recently came across a dual-tone Trail Dust/Grayscape model on display and checked it out in detail. Here are some of my interesting observations:

Design

Trail Dust is an earthy yellow, and it highlights the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser’s adventurous character well. I think customers who enjoy off-roading, hiking, camping, and like to remain close to nature would prefer their 2024 Land Cruiser in this shade. Along with that, Toyota uses Grayscape, a light gray color, for a contrasting look on the top. The two-tone scheme looks slightly brighter in real compared to the official online configurator. Trail Dust is a new addition to the palette, and doesn’t have any history.

Having observed it from all angles, I think the 2024 Land Cruiser has a tough and boxy design, although it doesn’t look over-aggressive. Toyota equips it with features like a black “TOYOTA” heritage grille, 18-in. matte-gray alloy wheels, Rigid-sourced LED color-selectable fog lights, and roof rails.

Interior

The 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser has a utilitarian interior, but I think it looks quite appealing. Between the Java and Black color options, I think the former, a shade of brown, goes well with the Trail Dust/Grayscape exterior. The new hybrid SUV features heated and ventilated front seats with a memory function for the driver’s seat and a three-zone automatic climate control system. Its steering wheel, attached to a power tilt/telescopic column, doesn’t include a heating function.

Toyota equips the 2024 Land Cruiser with a number of advanced tech features. These include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, an auto-dimming IRVM with compass HomeLink universal transceiver, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto integration compatibility.

Specifications

Under the hood, the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser has a 2.4-liter turbocharged gas engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. An electric motor placed in a bell housing between them cuts fuel consumption, leading to an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 22 MPG (city)/25 MPG (highway)/23 MPG (combined).
