Tesla Model Y Refresh deliveries begin in the U.S.; Handoff event at Giga Texas on March 8

Tesla has begun delivering the new Model Y to customers in the U.S. An early buyer who placed an order on January 23, has just received keys to their vehicle in Knoxville, TN. Pictures posted on X and Tesla Motors Club show the Launch Series version finished in Stealth Grey body color specified with 19-inch Crossflow wheels, and all-black interior.

Tesla will also host a Model Y delivery event at Giga Texas on March 8, 2025. The company hasn’t conducted a major factory event since the Cybertruck launch, and this event should provide more details on the timelines for the new Model Y variants.

Select customers will pick up their vehicles at an invitation-only event, which includes a factory tour and refreshments. Sawyer Merritt, a Tesla enthusiast, shared his invite on X, confirming the event.

Tesla revealed the Model Y refresh in January 2025 and estimated U.S. deliveries in March. The vehicle has already reached buyers in Europe and China, where production plants build it in the local specification. Tesla began displaying the new Model Y at select U.S. outlets last month, inviting prospects for a demo.

What is referred to by the internet as ‘Project Juniper’ comes with significant changes, including a turn signal stalk, aluminum detailing, screen for the rear passenger, ambient lighting, new ventilated seats, upgraded sound system, and a refined suspension system. The restyled front and rear fascias, featuring a continuous light band, align it with the Cybertruck and the Cybercab.

This Model Y refresh follows Tesla’s usual strategy of launching high-end versions first. At this time, only the Launch Series is available to order in the U.S., and this Long Range AWD variant is priced at USD 59,990. It offers 327 miles of range, a 0-60 mph time of 4.1 seconds, and a top speed of 125 mph. Other versions, including the 7-seater, Performance, and RWD (Range) model, will arrive later this year.
