The 2024 Tesla Model S Plaid is one of the fastest cars you can buy, offering the same performance as some of the world’s most expensive supercars. Here at the Paris Motor Show 2024, I got to check out the Tesla Model S Plaid finished in the Lunar Silver body color. The car is priced at 117,890 Euros, making it a rare sight on the Parisian roads.

The Lunar Silver paint and 21-inch wheels lends the Model S Plaid a sleek look. While the design remains minimalist, I would’ve preferred a few additional visual elements, like different bumpers or body trim, to distinguish it from the standard Model S. The only exclusive exterior features are the Plaid badge and a small rear spoiler.

The interior of the 2024 Tesla Model S Plaid comes with carbon fiber inlays which is the only telltale that this is a high-performance version. The dashboard is slim, and the instrument cluster is kept low-key. The 17-inch touchscreen, which has excellent resolution, can be tilted for better visibility. The yoke steering wheel creates a futuristic feel, though I find the traditional steering wheel (fitted to this example) more practical.
The Tesla Model S Plaid is powered by three electric motors, producing an astounding 1,020 horsepower. It can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 1.99 seconds, complete a 400m dash in 9.23 seconds, and has a top speed of 200 mph (322 km/h). Despite its performance, it still offers an impressive EPA-estimated range of 359 miles, or 600 km if you are looking for the WLTP metric.

While Tesla hasn’t said anything, it certainly looks the Model S, particularly the interior, is the next big upgrade coming after the Model Y refresh. My feeling is that Tesla will upgrade the cabin with a rear seat package, besides tweaking the design to keep it fresh until the next-generation model arrives later this decade.
