On March 3, 2022, at its annual press conference, Skoda confirmed the existence of an Enyaq RS iV on its product roadmap and revealed that it plans to launch this high-performance electric SUV in the second half of 2022. The Skoda Enyaq RS iV will be a pure electric alternative to the Kodiaq RS and a more practical sibling of the Enyaq Coupe RS iV that debuted in February 2022.

Design
The Skoda Enyaq RS iV will be the brand’s second electric RS model, after the Enyaq Coupe RS iV. The ‘Rally Sport’ badge will attract customers who like the thrill of driving with an exterior design that screams performance. Expect the RS to arrive with Skoda’s signature Crystal Face. It comprises an illuminated grille with 131 LEDs and a DRL strip that flows into the Matrix LED headlamps. It will also come with the RS exclusive Mamba Green paint option.

The SUV is expected to have an aggressive front bumper with a lower air intake. The Enyaq Coupe RS iV is offered with two alloy wheel options; 20-inch Taurus wheels are standard fitment, while the 21-inch Vision wheels with an aerodynamic design cost extra. We expect similar offerings on the Enyaq RS iV at launch. Expect a boxy rear with LED taillamps, Skoda lettering in the center of the tailgate, and a full-width reflector on the bumper.
Interior & Features

The cabin layout of the Skoda Enyaq RS iV is expected to be identical to the non-RS models, albeit with a few unique touches. Skoda may offer two design selections christened RS Lounge and RS Suite, like on the Coupe. The design selections offer premium contrast stitching on the seats, dashboard, steering, and floor mats. Enthusiasts will love the carbon fiber effect on the door trim, aluminum pedals, and sports seats with integrated headrests.
There will be minimal digital real estate on the Skoda Enyaq RS iV. Expect to see a central 13-inch infotainment screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a 5.3-inch digital cockpit. Some premium touches will include a panoramic sunroof, three-zone climate control, ambient lighting, and multiple optional packs that add features like powered seats and massage functions. That said, expect more headroom for the rear passengers, thanks to the SUV’s squared off rear end.
Specifications
When the Enyaq SUV debuted in 2020, Skoda had quietly released specifications of the RS model as well. However, a tiny disclaimer at the bottom stated that the figures were provisional. That said, expect the Skoda Enyaq RS iV to use the same battery and machines as the Coupe. The Skoda Enyaq RS iV will come with a dual-motor AWD configuration; the combined output of the e-motors is 220 kW (295 bhp) and 460 Nm.

In terms of acceleration, the SUV may be a few tenths of a second slower than the Coupe’s 6.5-second 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration time—the coupe is naturally more aerodynamic than the SUV. The top speed will be electronically limited to 180 km/h (112 mph). The SUV will come with a 77 kWh battery with around 490 km/304 miles range (unofficial estimate) on the WLTP cycle. 135 kW could be the maximum DC charging rate. Fast-charging from 10 to 80% could take as little as just 36 minutes.
Price & Release Date
The Skoda Enyaq RS iV could debut at the 2022 Paris Motor Show that will open on October 17, 2022, and run through October 23, 2022. Skoda is yet to announce its participation at the French motor exhibition, though. At the previous Paris Motor Show in 2018, Skoda debuted the Kodiaq RS at the event. It’s impressive how the company has made significant progress in electrification during these four years and is likely ready to present a pure electric alternative to that model.
The Skoda Enyaq RS iV may undercut the Coupe’s GBP 53,735 sticker price (OTR) marginally. Its deliveries in the UK and EU markets may begin by early 2023. The performance model will rival the VW ID.4 GTX and the Tesla Model Y which are made in Europe. As for overseas competitors, the S.Korean Kia EV6 GT is in a whole different league, and we expect the same for the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N. Positioned above the 80X Sportline, the RS will also be manufactured in Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic.
