As the auto industry transitions to EVs, station wagons are coming back into focus. Porsche, Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, Peugeot, Opel, and several other brands already offer long-roofed EVs, while many others are planning electric station wagons.
Polestar recently confirmed it is developing an electric wagon derived from the Polestar 4 midsize SUV-coupe. Here’s everything we know about the upcoming electric wagon so far:
Design

The Polestar 4 Wagon will embody the brand’s current design language, sporting the same aerodynamic body and powerful proportions. As shown in our exclusive renderings, at the front, we expect a low-set hood, dual blade headlamps inspired by the Polestar Precept, a covered nose section with an illuminated brand logo, and an A-shaped functional grille.
The side profile will blend SUV and wagon traits rather than follow a traditional station wagon form. Spy shots suggest it will not sit low or feature a wide rear quarter glass or an upright D-pillar like a typical European wagon.

Retractable door handles, flush glazing with frameless windows, and 22-inch wheels are among the highlights that we expect.
Unlike the Polestar 4, its wagon version will feature a back glass, improving rearward visibility and comfort for rear passengers. Vertical aero blades, a clean tailgate with minimal surfacing, and a full-width light bar are among the other expected design details at the rear.
Interior
The interior of the Polestar 4 Wagon will follow the same reductive design as the current model. This layout should continue using sustainably sourced materials such as fully vegan ‘MicroTech’ upholstery and technical mesh textiles. A discreet ambient lighting system should softly illuminate key areas of the dashboard, center console, and door panels.

Information and controls should largely rely on a spread of digital displays, including a 10.2-inch instrument cluster, a 15.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 14.7-inch head-up display, and a 5.7-inch rear comfort touchscreen.
The front seats should come with 12-way power adjustment, manual leg cushion extension, and easy ingress/egress function, massage, heating, and ventilation functions. In the rear, a dedicated third climate zone and power reclining and heating functions should be the highlights in terms of comfort.

During my time with the Polestar 4, I found the front seats to offer strong back and shoulder support, which should carry over to the wagon for long-distance comfort. The screen-heavy interior delivered a clean layout but required using the touchscreen for most controls, and I expect this setup to remain unchanged.
In the rear, knee room and back support felt good, and I expect the wagon to offer a similarly comfortable second row, bettered with a longer roofline.
While the Polestar 4 offers 18.6 cu. ft. of cargo space, its wagon version could offer around 22 cu. ft. of cargo space. The capacity with the rear seat folded could be around 60 cu. ft. instead of the SUV-coupe’s 54.2 cu. ft.

Specifications
The Polestar 4 Wagon will likely come in single-motor RWD and dual-motor AWD variants. The base variant should have 200 kW (268 hp) and 253 lb.-ft. of torque and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in close to 7 seconds. The top variant may pack 400 kW (536 hp) and 506 lb.-ft. of torque and hit 0 to 60 mph in just under 4 seconds.
Both configurations should feature a 100 kWh module-less battery pack that supports charging at up to 11 kW (AC)/200 kW (DC). Fully charging it via an AC charger may take 11 hours, while charging from 10% to 80% SoC via a DC charger may take 30 minutes.

According to EPA estimates, it could deliver a range of slightly over 300 miles in the single-motor RWD variant and close to 280 miles in the dual-motor AWD variant.
Production
Polestar will outsource production of the 4 Wagon to Renault Korea, which will build the model at its Busan factory. Polestar’s parent company, Geely Auto, holds a 34.02% stake in Renault Korea.
Price & Release Date
During an online media interaction in February 2026, Polestar CEO Michael Lohscheller confirmed that the Polestar 4 Wagon is “absolutely” arriving in the U.S.

The Polestar 4 Wagon could retail at close to USD 60,000 in the single-motor RWD variant and around USD 65,000 in the dual-motor AWD variant.
Polestar has said that it expects to start delivering this model in Q4 2026, but it has not revealed which market will be the first. We think European countries may get the electric wagon first, well ahead of the BMW i3 Touring, followed by the U.S. in the first half of 2027.
