2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid e-Power brings edgy styling, fuel-sipping tech

Update (April 27, 2026): ‘Interior’ updated.

At a strategy event held in Yokohama, Japan, on April 14, Nissan revealed the fourth-generation Rogue. The first model featuring the e-Power series-hybrid system in the U.S. and Canada will be released as an MY2027 vehicle.

Here’s everything we know about the 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid e-Power so far:

Design

From its size and proportions, the 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid e-Power looks like a heavily evolved version of the outgoing Rogue rather than a new-generation model. It retains the same soft, crossover character while adopting a bolder and more technical design and styling.

At the front, the 2027 Rogue Hybrid e-Power adopts a sportier and more sophisticated look instead of the visually bulky appearance of the current SUV. It features a wider gloss black grille with a hexagonal pattern. The DRLs extend into the grille area, reinforcing the horizontal layout, and the Nissan badge is backlit.

The bumper features sharp lines with triangular elements at the corners, while the lower intake incorporates hexagonal inserts. The lower fascia adopts more angular surfacing with outward-facing elements, giving it a more pronounced and sculpted appearance than the outgoing model.

The side profile shows a planted stance with a raked D-pillar. The new hybrid SUV rides on 19-inch black alloy wheels with a partially covered, geometric design. Sharp character lines run along the body, while the roofline and beltline remain mostly straight.

The rear body has a sculpted surface with a slight concave section across the width. The combination lamps carry a rather quirky design and are connected by a light bar. The lower bumper has a more upswept profile with sharper, more angular surfacing than the outgoing model.

Interior

Nissan has yet to show the interior of the Rogue Hybrid e-Power, but leaked images (via Instagram/cars_secrets) have revealed key areas of the cabin. The 2027 model features a slim dashboard, a sleek, two-spoke steering wheel with regular push buttons, and a more modern center console. Overall, the interior has a much cleaner and edgier look.

The virtual instrument cluster and the touchscreen infotainment system have been integrated behind a single glass surface. The climate control panel should feature capacitive touch switches, which could be perceived as a downgrade in terms of ergonomics by many users.

Nissan seems to have used a push-button gear shifter instead of a lever to free up storage space, just like in the Murano (pictured above). The center console features an open storage area underneath, but it appears relatively shallow, which may limit its ability to accommodate larger items.

Specifications

The 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid rides on an updated version of the CMF-C platform. It incorporates the third-generation e-Power technology, which debuted in the Qashqai in Europe last year.

Nissan has developed a new 5-in-1 modular powertrain unit, which combines the electric motor, generator, inverter, reducer, and increaser. A new 1.5-liter three-cylinder gas engine with a thermal efficiency of 42% operates at its most efficient RPM and charges a small battery pack, which then supplies electrical energy to the motor.

We got to spend time understanding the e-Power system in Thailand, where this tech is already available. In our experience, it offers the acceleration, smoothness and similar quietness of an EV, without the need for external charging.

In the U.S.-spec 2027 Rogue Hybrid e-Power, Nissan uses a turbocharged version of the 1.5-liter engine to charge a small battery, possibly a 2.1 kWh unit like in the Euro-spec Qashqai. This battery powers two electric motors, which drive the wheels.

According to a report from The Drive, there’s a 150 kW (201 hp) electric motor in the front and a 100 kW (134 hp) unit in the rear, which creates an e-AWD setup. Citing Richard Candler, Nissan’s Corporate Executive Product Planner, the report says that the system power is approximately 200 hp.

Nissan is targeting a 20% improvement in fuel economy over the gas-only outgoing model. Given that the latter’s EPA-est. fuel economy is 32 MPG (FWD)/31 MPG (AWD), we expect the 2027 Rogue Hybrid e-Power to deliver 37-38 MPG.
