The 2024 Lucid Air Grand Touring looks majestic in Zenith Red!

Update (April 17, 2024): Official range figures added, and additional personal experiences included.

Launched in October 2021, the Lucid Air is still not a common sight on American roads due to its relatively limited production. The closest competitor to the Tesla Model S is still just as fascinating, and I grab every opportunity to explore its design, styling and interior. Recently, I saw a gorgeous 2024 Lucid Air Grand Touring finished in Zenith Red, and here’s my experience.

Design & Features

I would describe Zenith Red as a very rich and bold color, and it’s accentuated with dollops of platinum gloss along the roofline, bonnet and lip of the Air. Under indoor lighting, the paint finish resembled the deep, rich hue of a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot, making it perfect for a grand entrance at a red carpet event or an upscale evening gathering!

The 2024 Lucid Air has a captivating exterior with a low and wide stance, sleek, micro-lens array (MLA) headlights, a curvaceous passenger cabin, and clean surfaces. The platinum-finish cant rails framing the glass canopy and silver upper ORVM housing add a nice contrast to the dark red paint, which costs an additional USD 800.

The 21-inch Aero Blade wheels seen on this Zenith Red Lucid Air Grand Touring are an upgrade costing USD 1,750, but their stylish multi-spoke design is totally worth it. Although I’m not a fan of the full-width tail light design, that’s a small price to pay for what’s overall a stunning exterior.

Interior

Inside, I like the slim dashboard and the curved glass that houses three screens combined to look like one ultra-wide unit. The curved glass appears as if it’s floating on the dashboard, and while it reminds me of the Taycan, I think it’s comparatively a better execution. The right-most display supports onboard navigation and wireless Apple CarPlay.

The extremely slim AC vents are nearly hidden, contributing to a cleaner look. A portrait-style touchscreen serves as the car’s control center. This screen dramatically emerges from the dashboard when needed and retracts when not in use.

The compact steering wheel features toggles, including one for controlling the speaker volume, and push-back buttons. Similarly, there are four buttons in the center of the dashboard for adjusting the AC temperature and fan speed, and a toggle between them for increasing or decreasing speaker volume.

Along with the low-profile design, the glass canopy gives the interior a light and airy feel. That feature costs USD 4,000 extra on the Lucid Air Grand Touring, but I feel it’s a must-have. The Tahoe Extended Leather upholstery seen in this car is also an optional feature, costing USD 5,500, which I think is ridiculously expensive. As standard, this car comes with Mojave PurLuxe Leather Alternative upholstery.

The 2024 Lucid Air Grand Touring offers generous legroom in the back.

A 9-speaker sound system is standard in the Grand Touring grade of the 2024 Lucid Air, and a 21-speaker sound system is available as an option for a cool USD 2,900. 12-way power heated front seats are standard, but for an additional USD 3,750, Lucid Motors offers an upgrade to 20-way power heated front seats with ventilation and massage functions. A heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, a four-zone climate control system, and power rear and rear side window sunshades are also part of the standard equipment in the 2024 Lucid Air Grand Touring.
