The Kia EV2 is confirmed for production and will launch in February 2026. This small electric SUV was previewed by the Concept EV2, unveiled at Kia’s EV Day in Barcelona in February 2025.
Confirmation
Looking ahead, Kia will continue to expand the lineup with the EV4, EV5, and EV2, building a robust volume EV portfolio.

The EV2 targets the urban SUV segment in Europe, and due to its size, it is unlikely to be sold in the U.S. For North America, the company will position the EV3 as its entry-level EV in the future.

Design
Kia CEO Ho Sung Song called the EV2 a “bold step forward” in urban mobility, promising advanced technology and practicality in a small footprint. As depicted in our illustrations, the EV2 is set to feature clean lines, Kia’s Star Map lighting with vertically stacked projector LED headlamps, rugged bumpers, a wide daylight opening (DLO), flush door handles, a strong silhouette, and good ground clearance.

As reflected in our illustrations, we also notice star-shaped dual-tone alloy wheels and a charging door on the front fender in recent spy photos. At the rear, the production vehicle should retain the wraparound windshield, wide-opening tailgate, and the low-set combination lamps integrated into the wheel arch extenders, similar to those on the Kona EV.
Interior
While the concept has fancy rear-hinged doors, test prototypes show that Kia is keeping the formula basic, adopting regular doors with wide windows and windshields. We expect EV3 influences here with a minimalist dashboard, combining a digital instrument panel and the infotainment system which supports wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto.

And taking cues from the concept, Kia should include a wireless charging pad, power outlets, Over-the-Air (OTA) updates, and foldable rear seats with adequate space for four adults.
Specifications
Kia didn’t offer hints about the EV2’s specifications when presenting the concept, but a report from Korea Economic Daily last December revealed that the company was planning to release LFP and NMC battery variants of the EV2. It had learned that the LFP battery-powered EV2 was designed to go 300 km (186 miles) on a single charge, whereas the NMC-powered EV2 is being developed for 440 km (273 miles) of range.
Despite its small size, the EV2 will have features associated with larger Kia EVs, including Vehicle-to-Load charging capability.
Pricing & Release

While the launch of the EV2 will be held in February 2026, we anticipate a gradual rollout in European markets during the first half of next year. The vehicle will be manufactured in Slovakia. Expected to be priced between EUR 25,000-30,000 (USD 28,363-34,035), its main competitors will include the Fiat Grande Panda, Hyundai Inster, Citroen e-C3, and the Renault 4.
