2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe: 4 changes that you should know about

Update: ‘New trim line-up’ section added and ‘Revised prices’ updated.

The Jeep Wrangler 4xe debuted in September 2020 as the most eco-friendly Wrangler ever. Just as Jeep announced at the unveiling, customer deliveries of the PHEV in the U.S. market commenced in early 2021. The Wrangler PHEV is produced at the Toledo Assembly Complex in Ohio, USA, since December 2020.

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe has begun arriving at dealers in the U.S., and it has four noteworthy changes from the 2022 model, which is still on sale. Here are the details on America’s best-selling plug-in hybrid vehicle for the new model year:

1. New exterior colors

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is available in two new exterior colors: Earl and Reign. Earl (pictured as the article’s featured image) is a replacement for the Snazzberry paint and it costs USD 395. Reign (pictured below), a new color, is a limited edition option costing USD 495. Customers can select the new colors in the base Sahara trim and the mid-range Rubicon trim, but not the top-of-the-line High Altitude trims. In total, there are 11 color choices for the 2023 Wrangler 4xe, as listed below:

  1. Black
  2. Bright White
  3. Earl (New)
  4. Firecracker Red
  5. Granite Crystal
  6. High Velocity

2. New decal

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe features a Wrangler Decal with an American Flag on the front fenders. The decal is in honor of the brand’s military heritage and it’s also a tribute to the American workers who make the Wrangler.

3. New trim line-up

Jeep has expanded the Wrangler 4xe line-up with the MY2023 line-up. In addition to the existing Sahara, Rubicon, and High Altitude trims, there’s a new Willys trim which sits at the bottom of the line-up, becoming the new entry point.

Willys is a heritage-inspired trim aimed at Jeep fans who seek electrification with a vintage twist. It features gloss black detailing on the grille, an Electric Blue ‘Willys’ decal on the hood, and an ‘Electric 4-Wheel Drive’ decal on the swing gate. Jeep has used the color also to accent the front and rear Willys tow hooks, the Trail Rated badge, and the brand badge.
