Following a mixed U.S. launch, the Jeep Wagoneer S heads to Europe

Following its U.S. launch in early 2025, the Jeep Wagoneer S has now made its European debut and will go on sale this year on the other side of the Atlantic.

We got to spend some time around the midsize electric SUV, which has received mixed reviews and limited demand in a challenging U.S. EV market, making its European launch and broader global rollout all the more important.

Design

The Wagoneer S combines traditional SUV cues with a more aerodynamic silhouette. It sits in the brand’s road-focused range alongside the Grand Cherokee and Grand Wagoneer, rather than the retro-inspired Recon and Wrangler.

Having been with every model in the brand’s U.S. and European lineup, I’d say that the Wagoneer S is the most stylish Jeep in the current portfolio.

The broad and high-set front-end is contrasted with sleek and clean elements, such as slim headlamps and an enclosed seven-slot grille that is illuminated inside indirectly.

On the sides, a vertical marker light on the front quarter panels immediately gives away the fact that this is a true American Jeep, as opposed to rather European ones like the Avenger and all-new Compass.

The Wagoneer S flaunts 20-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, flush pocket door handles, and a roofline that slopes beneath a cantilevered spoiler. The rear windshield is more steeply raked than the D-pillar, but the latter has been designed to visually mask that angle in the side profile.

The extreme angle is visible only when seeing the vehicle from the back. A second rear spoiler, located at the tip of the windshield, adds to the sporty flavor, and a full-width taillamp completes the look.

Interior

The interior of the Jeep Wagoneer S has the visual heft of a proper SUV. It takes little time in the car to figure that designers were trying to balance both luxury and tech. The moderately tall and winged dashboard features a flattish top. The steering wheel’s two-spoke design comes across as odd in a vehicle of this type.

Jeep equips the Wagoneer S with four displays in the front. There’s a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 10.25-inch climate/comfort touchscreen, and a 10.25-inch passenger touchscreen.

It offers all the essential buttons, knobs, and switches for frequently used interior functions, which make it practical in everyday use.

The front seats feature massage, heating, and ventilation functions, and the driver’s seat has a memory function as well. The rear seat also offers heating and ventilation functions.

Specifications

Based on the STLA Large platform, the Jeep Wagoneer S will be available in Europe in the top-end variant with a 250 kW motor on each axle. This combination delivers 600 horsepower, allowing the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in 3.5 seconds.

A 100.5 kWh battery pack with an operating voltage of 400 V powers the motor, and it charges up from 20% to 80% in 23 minutes. In the U.S., EPA estimates this setup can deliver a range of 294 miles, and while the WLTP rating is pending, we expect it to be close to 375 miles.

Release Date

The Jeep Wagoneer S could go on sale in European markets in mid-2026, with prices in the UK starting at around GBP 65,000 (approximately USD 88,500).

In the U.S.

In the U.S., Jeep sold 10,864 units of the Wagoneer S in 2025. The company’s first pure-electric model in our market was off to a slow start, with multiple recalls putting the brand under pressure.

In March 2025, Jeep had to recall the model due to a manufacturing defect with the headlight alignment. Two more major recalls followed in September 2025, one due to a mis-installed park pawl return spring in the electric drive module, which could allow the vehicle to roll away when parked, and one due to the fitment of an incorrect cross car beam in the dashboard.
