First Look Review: 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N has 4 noticeable changes

The 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N arrives with at least one noticeable change to the exterior, interior, features, and specifications, to freshen up Hyundai’s offering in the performance EV segment for 2026. As a fully-imported vehicle, the 5 N does not get the price cuts seen on the other 2026 Ioniq 5 variants.

We had the chance to experience the features and comfort of the 2026 Ioniq 5 N, and here are the changes that we discovered for the new model year:

Design

For 2026, the Ioniq 5 N gets a new Performance Blue Pearl paint, but otherwise things remain unchanged.

The front continues to be differentiated from the standard variants with a large air inlet with a mesh front grille. The lower front bumper integrates a lip spoiler finished with an N-exclusive Luminous Orange accent that continues along the side skirts.

Viewed from the side, the body sits 0.8 inches lower, 2 inches wider to accommodate wider tires, and 3.1 inches longer due to a larger rear diffuser. Forged 21-inch aluminum wheels are fitted with 275/35 R21 Pirelli P-Zero tires.

The rear layout features N-specific diffuser elements and checkered-flag reflector graphics with a wing-type rear spoiler with an integrated triangular brake light.

Interior

Inside, for 2026, the Ioniq 5 N adds a Forward Attention Warning in-cabin camera and expands the power windows to include front and rear auto-down/up.

The interior design, which is carried forward from last year, is slightly different from the everyday model. The cabin features an N-branded steering wheel, bucket seats, metal pedals, and scuff plates. The bucket seats sit 0.8 inches lower than the standard layout and include welcome lighting. Knee pads, shin supports, and a strengthened center-console extension accommodate track use.

The interior maintains the Ioniq 5’s flat-floor layout while integrating hardware optimized for performance driving. An N-specific steering wheel includes two programmable N buttons and an N Grin Boost button. Paddles activate N e-shift and N Pedal functions.

Specifications

As part of the upgrade for the new model year, the 2026 Ioniq 5 N gets the charging port upgraded from CCS to NACS, enabling access to the Tesla supercharger network without needing an adapter. It also gets the upgraded Level 1/Level 2 charging cable that’s standard across the 2026 Ioniq 5 lineup.

Hyundai lists a 10-100% AC charge time of 7 hours 20 minutes and a 10-80% DC fast-charge time of 30 minutes on a compatible NACS DC fast charger.

The 84-kWh battery is shared with other variants of the Ioniq 5 family with a dual-motor HTRAC AWD system delivering a peak output of 641 hp with N Grin Boost engaged. Range for the 2026 model is not known, but we don’t expect it to change much from the 221-mile EPA-estimated range of the 2025 model.

Price & Release Date

While pricing for the 2026 Ioniq 5 N has not yet been announced, the 2025 model has a starting MSRP of USD 66,200. We do not expect it to get significant discounts or a major price change, unlike its non-N siblings.
