When Honda introduced the new-generation CR-V Hybrid in 2022, it released an exclusive color to distinguish it from other Hondas – Canyon River Blue Metallic. This blue paint is no longer exclusive to the compact SUV, as it has since made it to the Accord Hybrid, but it still looks just as special. Recently, I saw the 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport Touring in this stunning shade of blue and explored the top-end variant in detail.
Design
Sport Touring is the range-topping grade of the 2024 CR-V Hybrid, and Honda leaves no stone unturned in staying true to the word ‘Sport’ in that name. I like its aggressive bumpers, hexagonal radiator grille with a gloss black accent, gloss black roof rails, and dual chrome exhaust finishers. However, my favorite exterior feature of the 2024 CR-V Hybrid Sport Touring is the Berlina Black 19-inch split 5-spoke alloy wheels. Full LED headlights, LED tail lights, and a hands-free power tailgate are some more exterior highlights of the hybrid SUV.
Interior
The 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport Touring has an all-black interior that goes well with its exterior, especially in the Canyon River Blue Metallic paint. Orange stitching on the upholstery of the steering wheel, seats, gearshift lever, and central armrest gives a nice contrast to the dark interior. The front seats feature heating and electric adjustment, and there’s also a memory function for the driver’s seat. The rear seats recline, but they don’t feature heating. The steering wheel, which has a manual tilt and telescopic column, does include heating in the top-end model.
Honda equips the 2024 CR-V Hybrid Sport Touring with a semi-digital instrument cluster that includes a 7-inch display on the left and an analog speedometer on the right. I think this is an area where the model needs to improve in the future, as competitors, like the Kia Sportage and Hyundai Tucson, feature more advanced, fully digital units with customizable layouts. A 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and navigation, a 15-watt wireless smartphone charger, and a 12-speaker Bose sound system are some other noteworthy tech features of the vehicle.
Specifications
The 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport Touring employs a 2.0-liter engine and an electric motor, which together produce 204 horsepower. An E-CVT and a mechanical all-wheel drive system work together to send drive to the wheels. This setup gives the hybrid SUV an EPA-est. fuel economy of 40 MPG (city)/34 MPG (highway)/37 MPG (combined).
The 2024 CR-V Hybrid Sport Touring is tow-capable, but it can’t pull heavy loads. Honda says it can tow only up to 1,000 pounds. The hybrid SUV offers 34.7 cu. ft. of cargo space, and folding the rear seat increases that figure to 76.5 cu. ft.
