The 2026 Ford Mustang Mach-E GT California Special introduces a heritage package for Ford’s electric midsize SUV.
What started as a dealer collaboration in 1968 with Ford to offer a special edition commemorating Mustang sales success in California has been revisited to bring some unique touches to the Mustang brand.
We recently got to spend some time with the Mach-E GT California Special, and here’s what we discovered.
Design

The 2026 Mustang Mach-E GT California Special applies Rave Blue as its signature color, with exclusive design details. The hue appears on the grille emblem, exterior badges, wheels, and trim. We noticed that the color transitions from light to dark. Ford says that this visual effect is deliberate and reflects ocean water.
The 2026 Mach-E variant receives 20-inch carbonized gray wheels with a printed GT/CS logo and gloss black aero wheel covers. The hood features a California Special graphic with gray, black, and blue striping intended to represent coastal scenery. In person, the California Special variant, while unmistakably a Mach-E GT, also feels more expressive and unique.
Interior

The interior includes GT California Special-specific materials and patterns. The performance seats use Navy Pier ActiveX and Miko material with reflective blue and silver striping. The center console and steering wheel use matching navy ActiveX coverings. The floor mats adopt the same blue and silver stitching pattern.
The interior updates are intended to differentiate the GT California Special from other Mach-E variants while preserving the family link with the Mustang two-door.

15.5 inch capacitive touchscreen, 10.2 inch digital instrument panel, 360 degree camera with split view, Bang & Olufsen audio system with 10 speakers, Ford Performance front seats with heating, and a wireless charging pad are among the key features.
Specifications

The 2026 Mustang Mach-E GT California Special is based on the standard spec GT series configuration. As is standard in the GT models, it offers an EPA-estimated range of 280 miles, while output is listed at 480 hp and up to 700 lb-ft of torque. The layout remains dual-motor AWD, consistent with other Mach-E GT variants, with the standard NACS port.
