Every new DS model starting in 2024 will be an EV.
In 2019, DS became the first Groupe PSA brand to launch an EV with the DS 3 Crossback E-Tense. Now, under the new parent company Stellantis, it’s chalking out plans to transition into a pure EV brand.
Two DS EVs in 2024
Following an EV version of the recently launched DS 4 (a conversion of the EMP2), DS will unveil a new design and launch the first STLA Medium platform EV, its first dedicated electric vehicle, in 2024. The company promises remarkable technology and refinement and a 700 km (435 miles) range with a 104 kWh battery pack for this dedicated EV.
So far, the media has talked about four different bespoke EVs from DS. Let’s take a look:
DS 7 Crossback
According to a report from L’argus, the second-gen DS 7 Crossback will launch in 2025 as a pure electric compact luxury crossover. The DS 7 Crossback EV will sit on the STLA Medium platform, which will underpin the Peugeot e-3008 as well.

STLA Medium platform EVs are planned with battery packs having a gross energy content of 87-118 kWh. The company expects to achieve a range of up to 700 km or 440 miles on the WLTP cycle. Needless to say, the low-riding models like sedans, coupes, or hatchbacks would deliver the highest possible range. But one can expect the electric SUV models like the Peugeot 3008 and DS 7 Crossback to achieve over 550 km (342 miles). STLA Medium platform EVs will employ motors with power outputs ranging from 125-180 kW. Expect single-motor 2WD and twin-motor AWD configurations in all the models.
DS P85 & DS P95
Another DS EV in the pipeline is an SUV-coupe inspired by the DS Aero Sport Lounge concept. It goes by the codename ‘DS P85,’ which could be a more aerodynamic version of the DS 7 Crossback EV. Moreover, the report adds that the company is studying a compact 7-seat SUV internally called ‘DS P95’, which could be a VW ID.6 rival.

Next-gen DS 3 Crossback
The DS 3 Crossback will see a full model change in 2026, and that’s the year when Stellantis plans to start employing the STLA Small platform. So, maybe the next-gen DS 3 Crossback E-Tense will debut or be among the first to capitalize on the STLA Small platform.
The STLA Small platform models will have 37-82 kWh (gross) battery packs that give a range of up to 500 km or 300 miles on the WLTP cycle. Some of these battery packs will be Nickel-Cobalt-free that have a lower energy density of 400-500 Wh/L but provide a cost advantage. The next-gen DS 3 Crossback could use a 70 kW motor in its base configuration, designed for urban users who would have a dense charging network by then.

Stellantis confirmed during its H1 2021 earnings conference call that DS will exclusively offer pure electric vehicles from 2024.
Alfa Romeo will be fully electrified in 2027, Lancia in ’24 and DS in ’24 also.
