The Citroen Ami, an electric quadricycle designed specially for European city streets, has received its first major update since it arrived in 2020. Citroen calls the 2025 Ami a new-generation model, but it’s essentially a facelifted version. At the 2024 Paris Motor Show, I got up close with the 2025 Citroen Ami to see what’s different, and this is what I found:
Design & Interior

The 2025 Citroen Ami has design changes all around. It carries over the double-decker light signature at the front and rear but with a new look. While the outgoing model features the turn indicators above the headlamps and tail lamps, the new one repositions them below.
The new headlamps are positioned higher like eyes on a human’s face and feature a black surround mimicking eyelids, with the upper part raised. This gives the 2025 Citroen Ami a more expressive look. The turn indicators lie at the bottom of the bumper at both ends and thus the gap between them and the headlamps and tail lamps is much higher on the new model.

Also new on the front and rear fascias are a retro-style brand logo finished in Infra-Red, which adds to the funky styling of the 2025 Citroen Ami. The lower part of the front bumper is less rounded and in a more sculpted style, which gives the new electric quadricycle a stronger look.
The new striations on the right-side front wing and left-side rear wing are a throwback to the iconic Citroen 2CV. A more interesting change on the sides is the cube motif, most prominently seen as Lego-like blocks on the wheels. The off-center brand logo on the new wheels also contributes to the funky appearance of the 2025 Citroen Ami. The interior of the new EV is no different from the outgoing model, giving the same fun vibe and easy operation.

Specifications
The new Citroen Ami measures 2,410 mm (94.9 in.) in length, 1,390 mm (54.7 in.) in width, and 1,525 mm (60.0 in.) in height. While final specifications are awaited, we expect it to continue with the same single-motor system that relies on a 5.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, producing 6 kW (8 hp) and 40 Nm (30 lb.-ft.) of torque.

The two-seat electric quadricycle should continue with a top speed of 27.9 mph and take 10 seconds to achieve that. With its battery pack fully charged, it is expected to deliver a range of 46 miles, as per the World Motorcycle Test Cycle (WMTC).
On the Ami Buggy Vision Concept
I also got the chance to explore the Ami Buggy Vision, currently a design exercise, that showcases an open, doorless Ami with a retractable roof inspired by kite surfing.

Unique features include seat cushions inspired by Citroen Advanced Comfort seats finished in the Infrared orange-red color from the Oli concept, which also highlights the dashboard. I also noticed a dashboard inscription “Like No One” in a water-inspired typeface, a kite surfboard mounting system on the doors, grooves on the fenders referencing the 2CV, a large rear wing, and round yellow headlights with a special lens, inspired by the brand’s history.
Price & Release date
Scheduled for launch in the first half of 2025, the new Citroen Ami will likely retail at just under GBP 8,000 (USD 10,436).
Back in 2021, the Ami made headlines in America when ride-sharing company Free2Move hinted at adding it to its fleet in Washington D.C. However, plans appear have changed as the model is not available for subscription in the U.S.
