2027 Chrysler Pacifica set to receive updated looks & interior, but no PHEV

Update: ‘Design’ section revised with new media and observations.

The Chrysler Halcyon Concept, revealed in February 2024, “exemplifies Chrysler’s future vision that embraces sustainable design and full autonomy paired with personalized driving experiences to deliver ‘Harmony in Motion.'” However, we don’t have to wait too long before it influences Chrysler’s dealer models.

Confirmation

Before the sporty coupe becomes a direct production reality, styling cues from the concept will inspire the Pacifica refresh.

Christine Feuell, the CEO of Chrysler, told AM 800 CKLW, a regional radio station in Windsor, Ontario, in January 2025, that they would be “picking up some of the design cues” of the Halcyon for the refreshed Chrysler minivan.

This came just days after she told CNBC (via Youtube) that both the exterior and interior design elements of the Halcyon is the direction of the future design language across the Chrysler portfolio.

Design

The 2027 Chrysler Pacifica has a familiar shape but a whole new character up front. Save for the hood, the entire front-end is new, and unlike the outgoing model, it carries a sharp look.

The 2027 Pacifica features inverted L-shaped headlamps aimed at giving the minivan an SUV-like appearance. Each unit includes a wide horizontal strip at the top and six smaller stacked light elements below that form the daytime running light signature. The low- and high-beam modules sit further down within the housing.

An X-shaped, body-colored bumper panel splits the front grille into a slim upper section and a larger hexagonal lower intake.

The upper grille uses a transparent panel that extends the DRL graphic across the fascia and incorporates a new illuminated brand logo from the Chrysler Halcyon Concept, along with a chrome wing element beneath it. The lower grille receives chrome inserts.

On the sides, the 2027 Pacifica flaunts chrome ORVM caps, chrome window trim, chrome door molding, and chrome roof rails. The new black five-double-spoke alloy wheels give the refreshed minivan a sportier styling.

At the rear, the horizontal combination lamps will likely feature a tweaked internal design, and the bumper should carry a new look.

Interior

Spy shots also show a reworked dashboard with a larger central touchscreen. The center section is likely to be completely redesigned, with new buttons and dials for a more tactile feel.

Feuell confirmed interior trim updates during her conversation with AM 800 CKLW. We’re also expecting additional color options, currently limited to brown and black.

Other features that could reach production include the flexible, textile-infused wood with a microfiber backing, and the Solar White suede, which uses 73% PET bottles. These materials upholster the seat and door panels of the concept.

Gilles on the new Pacifica

Ralph Gilles, Chief Design Officer at Stellantis, spoke about products at the Chrysler Century of Innovation event in June 2025 (via The Mopar Junkie). He’s adjusted the Pacifica’s design focus to include what he called a “self-care” mindset, as more buyers in North America pay attention to mental health, personal health, and day-to-day wellbeing.

He hinted the new Pacifica as less about maximizing family-hauling utility and more about giving the primary driver, “mom,” a calm, routine “zen moment” in the vehicle.

For the facelifted Pacifica, that message hints at a stronger focus on the cabin experience and driver comfort, with priorities that could include reduced NVH levels, higher-perceived material quality, simpler controls, new displays, improved comfort, and features aimed at reducing day-to-day stress including better ADAS tech and surround-view camera experience.

Powertrain

The initial plan was for the Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid facelift to receive changes under the hood, with Feuell mentioning an “updated PHEV battery system” during last year’s radio interaction.

That likely won’t hold going forward. Stellantis is ending PHEV sales in the U.S. starting with 2026 model year vehicles. The company points to softer consumer demand, but it still plans to expand hybrid and range-extender (EREV) offerings.

The Pacifica facelift is unlikely to get an EREV setup, since Stellantis’ first range-extender architecture is suited for larger trucks and SUVs, as we learned last year, and the tech is untested in the American market. A simpler front-wheel drive EREV would be preferred for the family hauler.

The Grizzly Concept is likely to inspire an off-road trim in future Pacifica iterations.

Logically, the 1.6L strong hybrid powertrain introduced in the new Cherokee would also require time and engineering work to be adapted to older platforms and products. That leaves a real chance that the refreshed Pacifica reaches dealers without an electrified option.

Price & Release Date

The 2026 Pacifica starts at USD 44,445 in the U.S., and CAD 56,695 in Canada (MSRP figures), and considering that it is a facelift, pricing for the 2027 model lineup should not witness drastic hikes.

With Chrysler already having revealed most of the exterior, the 2027 Pacifica’s launch seems to be just around the corner. The company could be planning to start sales of the new minivan in Spring 2026.

In 2025, the company delivered 110,006 units of the minivan (gas and hybrid) in the U.S., down 2% year-over-year. For the same period, sales in Canada improved by a staggering 95% year-over-year to 10,671 units.
