Cadillac has launched the 2024 Lyriq in four new colors in addition to carried-over paint options: Nimbus Metallic, Radiant Red Tintcoat, Celestial Metallic, and Emerald Lake Metallic. There are two new trim options as well: Tech and Sport. Just days after I checked out a Nimbus Metallic 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Sport, I saw a 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Tech in Emerald Lake Metallic on display. Here are my observations of the new color and trim:
Looks & Features

Despite being a base model, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Tech does not disappoint in terms of style. Firstly, I think this Emerald Lake Metallic shade looks magnificent, and it’d help the EV stand out without seeming gaudy. I imagine that the green metallic paint finish will appeal to buyers who like nature-inspired luxury.
Cadillac equips the 2024 Lyriq Tech with LED headlamps, a faux front grille featuring laser-etched graphics, 20-inch split six-spoke alloy wheels with Bright Silver finish and Gloss-Black aero inserts, and LED tail lamps. The headlamps feature a choreographed lighting sequence, and the faux front grille has backlighting, giving the vehicle a dramatic entrance. I observed that the wheels flaunt a Bright Silver finish and sport Gloss Black aero inserts.
Interior

The 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Tech has a sumptuous interior loaded with premium materials, high-end technologies, and plenty of comfort functions. I like the generous use of metallic surfaces in the slim dashboard and floating center console. My favorite interior feature is the freestanding 33-inch curved panel on the dashboard. Combining the instrument cluster and infotainment system touchscreen, it emphasizes the sleek and futuristic character of the electric SUV.
You don’t need to pair your smartphone to use Google Maps in the 2024 Lyriq Tech, as the default Maps app of its infotainment system loads Google Maps. Google Assistant is also built into the infotainment system, and with a Google Play app store also bundled, you can download and use many other services that you frequently use on your smartphone natively. However, you can connect your smartphone with wireless Apple CarPlay or wireless Android Auto if needed.

8-way power driver’s seat with 4-way power lumbar support, two-position memory, and 6-way power front passenger seat with 4-way power lumbar support are standard. Both offer a heating function but not ventilation. The steering wheel is connected to a manual tilt and telescopic column and lacks a heating function. When I sat in the back seat, I saw that the 60:40-split bench includes headrests on the outboard positions and a fold-down central armrest with two integrated cupholders.
Specifications
The 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Tech is available in RWD and AWD variants. The powertrain of the RWD produces 340 hp and 325 lb.-ft. of torque. The AWD variant’s powertrain generates 500 hp and 450 lb.-ft. of torque. Both variants are powered by a 102 kWh battery pack composed of lithium-ion NCMA cells and support charging up to 11.5 kW (AC) and 190 kW (DC).

On a full charge, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Tech can deliver an EPA-estimated range of 314 miles in the RWD variant and 307 miles in the AWD variant. I think it’s impressive how the significant performance bump in the AWD variant only marginally impacts its range. The Emerald Lake Metallic unit seen here is the AWD, as indicated by “600 E4” on the liftgate.

Price
The 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Tech retails at USD 57,195 in the RWD variant and USD 60,695 in the AWD variant. A USD 1,395 destination freight charge is extra. Priced around 30% lower than the Tesla Model X and significantly below the Audi Q8 e-tron and BMW iX, the Lyriq holds the long-term potential to make EVs more mainstream in its segment.
