After skipping the 2026 model year for the A6 e-tron in the U.S., Audi has finally rolled out the MY2027 update with several improvements. However, the 2027 Audi A6 e-tron, like the previous model, does not include the Avant version offered in Europe.
We’ve spent time with the Audi A6 Avant e-tron and were able to compare it side by side with the sedan (Sportback) version in the European specification. Here’s what we found America misses out on:
Design

The Audi A6 e-tron and A6 Avant e-tron have a sleek and tech-focused exterior design. Both cars sit low and wide and sport futuristic lighting, featuring Matrix LED headlights with eight digital light signatures for the DRLs and second-generation digital OLED rear lights that can show warning symbols.

The Singleframe is inverted and fully covered to help aerodynamics, and surrounded by a black mask that integrates the low- and high-beam lights, the driver assistance system sensors, and the air intakes.
The hood conceals an extra storage space (frunk), which can be opened by swiping from left to right beneath the leading edge of the hood. Flush-mounted door handles and virtual mirrors are also among the key exterior features, but the latter are not available in the U.S.

While the A6 e-tron has an arching roofline and a tapering greenhouse, the A6 Avant e-tron features a flat roofline extending further back and a squarish greenhouse. The latter has a steeply raked D-pillar and features an additional spoiler on the diffuser.
While the sedan has a drag coefficient of 0.21 Cd, the wagon’s Cd value is 0.24, which matches its closest rival, the BMW i5 Touring.
Interior

Inside, the Audi A6 e-tron and A6 Avant e-tron share an asymmetric dashboard, a compact steering wheel with a flattened top and bottom, door panels with angular surfaces that align with the dashboard design, and a full-length front center console. The interior combines minimalist design with heavy surfacing and layered elements expected in a European luxury car.
A curved panel on the dashboard integrates an 11.9-inch virtual instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system. There’s also a 10.9-inch front passenger touchscreen integrated into the dashboard, and it can be used to watch videos, set a navigation route, or find a parking space.
The Euro-spec A6 e-tron and A6 Avant e-tron offer 17.7 cu. ft. of cargo space, but while folding the rear seat expands the volume to 47.0 cu. ft. in the former, in the latter, the capacity increases to 50.2 cu. ft.

According to U.S. measurements, the A6 e-tron offers 25.95 cu. ft. of cargo space, expandable to 39.87 cu. ft. by folding the rear seat.
With the MY2027 update in the U.S., Audi has introduced scroll wheels on the steering wheel, a dashcam option, and a Power Nap mode that can be used during a charging break or a rest stop.
The company has updated the UI of the three displays to make operations simpler and align the graphics with its new corporate identity, and also expanded the list of functions that customers can use with voice control.

Specifications
In Germany, both Audi A6 e-tron and A6 Avant e-tron are available in standard, performance, and quattro configurations, all with a top speed of 130 mph.
The standard configuration has a single, rear-mounted motor producing 282 hp or 322 hp with launch control and 321 lb.-ft. of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in six seconds flat. A 75.8 kWh battery pack with a peak charging power of 225 kW powers this motor. It delivers a WLTP range of 395 miles in the sedan and 378 miles in the wagon.

The performance configuration upgrades to a rear motor that develops 362 hp or 375 hp with launch control and 417 lb.-ft. of torque, cutting the 0-62 mph sprint time to 5.4 seconds. A 94.9 kWh battery pack with a peak charging input of 270 kW extends the WLTP range to 483 miles in the sedan and 462 miles in the wagon.
The quattro configuration uses a combination of a low-output front motor and a high-output rear motor, which results in 422 hp of system power, or 456 hp with launch control.
The front motor generates 203 lb.-ft. of torque and the rear motor develops 428 lb.-ft. of torque. 0 to 62 mph comes up in just 4.5 seconds. The battery pack is the same 94.9 kWh unit, while the WLTP range drops to 455 miles in the sedan and 434 miles in the wagon.

In the U.S., Audi offers the A6 e-tron in the performance and quattro configurations with nearly identical specifications, with the only difference being the latter’s motor producing 466 hp with launch control engaged instead of 456 hp in the Euro-spec model model.
A 0-60 mph sprint takes 5.2 seconds in the former and 4.3 seconds in the latter, while the maximum EPA-estimated range in the same order is 395 miles and 360 miles, respectively. Audi has improved regenerative braking by upgrading the one-pedal-braking B mode with the MY2027 update.
On the downside, while the range has increased by 3 miles in the standard configuration from MY2025, it has dropped by 17 miles in the quattro configuration.
Price
Prices for the Audi A6 e-tron and Audi A6 Avant e-tron in Germany start at EUR 62,800 (USD 73,761) and EUR 64,450 (USD 75,699), respectively. In the U.S., the 2027 Audi A6 e-tron’s prices start at USD 66,700, excluding a USD 1,295 destination charge.
