2026 Audi Q3 e-Hybrid: 8 Things That You Should Know About The PHEV

The all-new Audi Q3 Plug-in Hybrid (Audi Q3 e-Hybrid) has been revealed in Europe. While U.S. launch plans and variants for the next-gen Q3 family are still to be formally announced, the American operation will no doubt be studying the improved plug-in hybrid variant for the local market.

Here are eight aspects that you should know in the new subcompact luxury SUV for Europe:

1. New Hybrid Option

Globally, the new Audi Q3 gets a superior plug-in hybrid system compared the outgoing model. Badged Q3 45 TFSI e, it combines a 1.5L turbo petrol engine with an 85 kW electric motor. Together, they deliver 268 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Power goes to the front wheels via a 6-speed S tronic transmission.

2. Practical Electric Range

The Q3 e-hybrid carries a 25.7 kWh battery, of which 19.7 kWh is usable. Audi claims up to 119 km or 74 miles (WLTP) of electric range. That should be 55-60 miles in EPA terms, one of the longest ranges among compact PHEVs.

3. 50 kW DC Fast Charging

Charging is handled via an 11 kW AC onboard charger. Buyers get a full charge in under three hours using a home wallbox. The Q3 also supports DC fast-charging at up to 50 kW, and while Audi hasn’t confirmed, 10-80% SoC should take under 30 minutes.

4. Bolder Looks

The third-gen Q3 looks bolder in the third generation. It features a wider Singleframe grille and slim Matrix LED headlights. At the back, there’s a full-width LED light bar, with optional OLED taillamps. The design is cleaner and more angular than before.

5. Horizontal, Spacious Interior

Audi has redesigned the dashboard with a clean horizontal layout. Soft-touch surfaces are standard. Optional trims use real wood. Recycled materials like Econyl and polyester are used for upholstery and floor mats in select variants.

6. Curved ‘Digital Stage’

A 12.8-inch MMI touchscreen is paired with an 11.9-inch digital driver display in a curved layout. Both run Android Automotive OS and support wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Drivers can also install apps from the Audi App Store.

7. Improved Practicality

The rear seat slides, reclines, and folds flat. Cargo space is 380 liters (13.4 cu ft) with the seat up and 1,375 liters (48.6 cu ft) with it down. There’s also a new panoramic glass sunroof and ambient lighting with 30 colors. Towing capacity is up to 1,700 kg (3,748 lbs) on an 8% gradient, making it suitable for light trailers.
