First Look Review: 2026 Kia Carnival Hybrid gets new trim & packages

The 2026 Kia Carnival Hybrid gets a few minor changes over the 2025 model, which received a major facelift to enter a limited minivan segment alongside the Toyota Sienna Hybrid and Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid.

Following our review of the 2025 model, we got to spend some time with the 2026 Kia Carnival Hybrid in the SX Prestige trim to check out all the hardware and creature comforts.

Design

Silver Paint Trim & SX Dark Edition Package

For 2026, the LXS and EX add Silver Paint trim on the radiator grille, the SX continues with Matte Chrome trim, and the SX and SX Prestige gain rain-sensing wipers as standard. Dark edition outside mirrors are optional on SX and standard on SX Prestige, and the SX Dark Edition Package bundles blacked-out exterior trim with 19-inch dark alloy wheels.

The package also includes full-LED high and low projection headlamps, LED rear combination lamps, leather seat fabric, an 11-inch head-up display, a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system, a heated steering wheel, and a digital rearview mirror with HomeLink.

Exterior color options range from five to seven finishes depending on the trim, with the available SX Dark Edition applying blacked-out exterior elements. These include a dark accent in the front grille, window frames, pillars, and mirrors, paired with an off-black two-tone interior color option and 19-inch dark alloy wheels.

At the front, the 2026 Carnival’s fascia continues with a wide tiger-nose grille flanked by vertical cube-style LED headlamps and wide inverted-L-shaped daytime running lights. From the side, the Carnival Hybrid’s profile is all about the vehicle’s length, with a long, flowing beltline stretching from front to rear, and a contrast-colored C-pillar.

The vehicle continues riding on 17-inch wheels on the base LXS, while the EX, SX, and SX Prestige ride on 19-inch wheels. At the rear, it features connected LED taillights that span the width of the minivan and are complemented by a clean bumper design with integrated reflectors and a subtle lip spoiler.

Interior

Seat Package

For 2026, the SX Prestige adds a Seat Package, which is represented in the model in this article. It bundles existing features to make it easy to order, and offers a more comfy second-row experience.

It includes one-touch relaxation functions, heating, ventilation, leg extensions, ambient lighting, high-gloss interior trim (required for the ambient lighting), and laminated second-row windows. The SX can also be equipped with leather seat fabric via the SX Dark Edition Package for 2026.

We also noticed that the SX Prestige uses a Satin Metal Paint crashpad garnish for 2026, and the Hydro graphic wood grain crashpad garnish no longer applies to the SX Prestige trim.

Infotainment continues to be handled by a 12.3-inch touchscreen display featuring wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. Driver information is displayed either on a 4.2-inch screen on the LXS and EX or on a 12.3-inch curved display on the SX trims, with the SX Prestige adding an 11-inch head-up display.

As before, seating configurations support seven- or eight-passenger layouts, with Slide-Flex seating that folds down the middle-row center seat available on eight-passenger models.
