The Jeep Grand Wagoneer enters 2026 with the late availability of an all-new REEV (Range-Extended EV) variant, featuring updated exterior styling and new interior themes across the range compared to the current gas-powered model. REEV is Jeep’s way of saying EREV, which stands for Electric Range Extender Vehicle.
The introduction of a range-extended electric version as part of the 2026 refresh should ease the transition for American buyers looking to move from gasoline vehicles to EVs, without having to depend on charging infrastructure or compromise driving range.
Having spent some time experiencing the refreshed 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Limited gas variant, which is the REEV’s donor model, here are our expectations.
Design

At the front, the 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer introduces a revised exterior with a taller front fascia and raised headlamps. The new grille, which is the first thing we noticed walking up to the gas model, uses illuminated seven-slot elements and connects visually with sharper, slimmer full-width LED lighting.
The “Wagoneer” badge on the hood has been replaced with a prominent “Jeep” badge in a branding rethink. The lower fascia incorporates T-shaped LEDs that form a horizontal lighting theme.
At the rear, similar styling updates are applied to the taillights, which now stretch across the full width. We observed that Jeep has removed all chrome accents from the exterior, shifting to a cleaner finish across all trims. Wheel designs range from 18 to 22 inches. The 2026 Grand Wagoneer will also introduce the Upland trim, which adds rugged styling cues.
Interior

The cabin of the gas model introduces multiple interior levels aligned with Jeep’s trim structure, and we’ll soon get confirmation on the trims and options planned for the electrified version. For the moment, the gas-powered Grand Wagoneer offers black with Sea Salt or all-black colorways, using brushed horizontal trim and Anchor Silver-painted accents.
Seating materials include Capri leather for the Grand Wagoneer and Nappa leather for the Limited, with Axis II perforation patterns. The Upland trim applies a more rugged theme, while the Limited Reserve grade adds features such as a 19-speaker McIntosh audio system, a tri-pane sunroof, power steps, and a head-up display.
The Summit trim for the gas model introduces Dark Waxed Walnut open-pore wood and Nappa leather seating. The Summit Reserve adds Palermo leather, quilted patterns, copper and smoke stitching, a premium suede headliner, ventilated rear seating, a 23-speaker McIntosh audio system, an integrated console cooler, and a front passenger display.
A new head-up display offers a larger field of view and a longer virtual image distance than the previous generation.
Experience in the 2026 Grand Wagoneer Limited

Ingress into the refreshed Jeep Grand Wagoneer is eased by power-deploying side steps. The front seats offer high levels of comfort, with strong under-thigh, back, and shoulder support, along with generous headroom.
The armrests are wide and supportive, though they do not extend forward, which could further improve comfort. Outward visibility is strong, supported by large windows and side mirrors that create a commanding driving position. We’re expecting the same space, visibility and comfort in the REEV.
The dashboard features a large central screen paired with gloss-black piano-style controls. While visually appealing, the finish attracts fingerprints and requires frequent cleaning.
Physical buttons remain for volume and scrolling, while seat heating, ventilation, and steering-related functions are grouped together as touch controls that are easy to locate. The center console includes physical switches for drive modes and four-wheel-drive low, contributing to a premium and tactile cabin layout.

Access to the second row is straightforward using the side steps. Captain’s chairs provide good back support, thigh support, and headroom, along with large armrests and wide windows. Rear passengers benefit from heated seats, pillar-mounted air vents, and dual seatback screens with individual remotes for media control.
Entry into the third row remains easy for a full-size SUV. The third-row seats accommodate a six-footer with adequate headroom, usable thigh support, and space for large shoes under the second-row seats.
Large side windows reduce any real sense of confinement. USB charging ports, individual air vents, and reclining seatbacks add comfort, though taller occupants may still prefer the first two rows for longer journeys.
Specifications

The Grand Wagoneer REEV uses a liquid-cooled 92-kWh battery pack integrated within the floor structure. The range-extended electric system pairs a 3.6-liter V6 engine with a 130-kW generator for a combined estimated output of 647 hp and 620 lb-ft of torque.
The REEV achieves an estimated 0-60 mph time of around five seconds. Jeep anticipates a total driving range of more than 500 miles.
Operating Modes
While Jeep is yet to release complete specifications, we have additional information from Mopar Insiders’ reporting.

The Grand Wagoneer REEV operates in three modes depending on battery state and demand. In charge-depleting EV Mode, the 92 kWh battery powers the electric drive modules directly, with the engine and generator remaining switched off for all-electric operation.
In Hybrid Mode, when the battery state of charge is low or during low temperatures, the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 runs an onboard generator to produce electricity for the motors while sustaining the battery.
During Power Looping Mode, used for heavy towing, steep inclines, or sustained load, the engine and generator continuously supply electricity to the drive modules to maintain consistent output.
