The 2026 Honda Civic Sport Touring Hybrid Hatchback carries over unchanged from the 2025 model, which received a mid-cycle facelift. Uniquely, it continues offering a hybrid within the compact hatchback segment in North America, with fuel efficiency being its hallmark.
Recently, we got to spend time with the 2026 Honda Civic Sport Touring Hybrid Hatchback in the Sand Dune Pearl finish, and here are our observations.
Design
At the front, the 2026 Honda Civic Sport Touring Hybrid Hatchback adopts a grille and bumper design inspired by the Civic Type R, paired with darker exterior accents exclusive to Sport trims. Hybrid models receive a body-colored headlamp garnish and a front lower spoiler that differentiates them from gasoline-powered versions.

Viewed from the side, the hatchback retains its compact proportions, with the Sport Touring Hybrid riding on 18-inch alloy wheels with Matte Shark Gray inserts as standard, or optional 18-inch Black Coal alloy wheels available for an additional USD 1,600.
Black exterior trim elements remain standard across Sport variants. At the rear, the hatchback features a connected taillamp design and a rear window wiper to accommodate the raked glass.
The Civic Sport Touring Hybrid Hatchback is offered in eight exterior colors, four of which, including the exclusive Sand Dune Pearl finish, carry a USD 455 premium.
Interior

The interior follows the Civic’s horizontal, clean layout with features specific to hybrid trims. The Sport Touring Hybrid includes leather seating surfaces and a gray interior color option that is exclusive to hybrid models.
A 9-inch center touchscreen is standard on this trim and supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Google built-in for the Civic lineup includes Google Maps, Google Assistant, and access to apps through Google Play, along with a complimentary three-year data plan. A wireless smartphone charging pad is also included.

The Sport Touring Hybrid trim adds a 12-speaker Bose audio system, while front USB-C ports are standard across the Civic lineup. The cabin maintains the Civic Hatchback’s rear-seat space and cargo access through the liftgate. Blind Spot Information with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert is standard.
Specifications
The Civic Sport Touring Hybrid uses Honda’s familiar two-motor hybrid system paired with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, which is now also shared with the 2026 Honda Prelude. EPA fuel economy ratings for the Sport Touring Hybrid Hatchback are a whopping 50 mpg city, 45 mpg highway, and 48 mpg combined.

Combined system output is about 200 horsepower with 232 lb-ft of torque. Honda states this configuration makes the hybrid models the most powerful non-Type R Civics sold in the U.S.
The hybrid system delivers torque through an electronic continuously variable transmission rather than a traditional stepped gearbox. Linear Shift Control simulates engine speed changes during acceleration.
Four levels of regenerative braking are selectable using steering-wheel paddles. Hybrid models also record the lowest NVH levels in the Civic lineup, supported by Active Noise Control and wheel resonators on the Sport Touring Hybrid.
