First Look Review: 2026 Chevrolet Blazer EV drops the RWD configuration

The Chevrolet Blazer EV shifts to the 2026 model year with a new Tech Bronze package, a new Polar White paint color, and a more streamlined lineup, dropping the RWD variant. The midsize electric crossover comes with up to 312 miles of EPA-estimated range, two drive layouts, and performance options that include a 615 hp SS trim.

We recently got to spend some time with the 2026 Chevrolet Blazer EV RS in the Galaxy Gray Metallic, and here is what we think about it.

Design

A “Tech Bronze Package,” new for 2026, adds distinctive bronze-finished wheels and other bronze accents. A new color, Polar White Tricoat, has been added to the palette, replacing the previous Iridescent Pearl Tricoat.

There are no styling changes for the 2026 model year. At the front, LED DRL bars that meet an illuminated Chevrolet logo cover the width of the SUV, and an A-shaped grille leaves a dominant impression. LT, RS, and SS trims each carry distinct exterior elements. LT includes a monochromatic appearance with standard 19-inch wheels. RS adds black accents, a black grille, and 21-inch wheels.

At the rear, the 2026 Chevy Blazer EV features the same T-shaped wraparound tail lamps but doesn’t have a light strip connecting them, which makes it look quite normal. A roof-integrated spoiler flows downward and wraps around the sides of the windshield. RS and SS models include a dual-element LED lighting signature.

Interior

The 2026 Blazer EV continues as a strict five-seater with no option for third-row seats. A 17.7-inch touchscreen is the central interface for infotainment functions, paired with an 11-inch digital gauge cluster. Head-Up Display is an optional extra. RS and SS models include a flat-bottom steering wheel and turbine-inspired air vents.

As earlier, the gear selector is a steering stalk, so gear selection doesn’t require taking a hand off the steering wheel, and the center console is tilted toward the driver for easier access and reduced distraction.

Ambient lighting is standard on RS and SS. Trim-specific cues include blue and red stitching on RS and suede microfiber seating with Adrenaline Red surfaces and optional Argon Orange accents on SS. Heated and ventilated front seats are available on RS and standard on SS, with heated rear outboard seats standard on SS.

Specifications

Front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations are offered for 2026, with the rear-wheel drive being dropped from the lineup. The SS trim includes a performance AWD system with up to 615 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque based on GM estimates, with the WOW mode enabling an estimated 0-60 mph acceleration in 3.4 seconds.

Range varies from a 283-mile EPA-estimated range for the AWD LT and RS trims going up to 302 miles on the SS. The FWD variants on the LT and RS get a slightly higher 312-mile range.

The 11.5 kW onboard AC module supports home charging. DC fast charging capability reaches up to 190 kW depending on the trim, enabling up to 78 miles of added range in approximately 10 minutes under suitable conditions. A Dual-Level charging cord is standard for 2026 across all trims.
