The 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid began arriving at dealer yards in June last year, and marked the introduction of the electrified Civic in the U.S. after a 10-year hiatus. We recently got to check out the hybrid sedan in person, and here’s what we observed in the Sport Touring version that was finished in Platinum White.
Design
The 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid features an aggressive front, thanks to a redesigned front fascia and grille. Hybrid variants stand out with a unique body-colored headlamp garnish and a front lower spoiler that adds visual width. Darker taillights lend the sedan the required aggression to match the front.

Sport trims carry over dark accents and black 18-inch wheels, while the Sport Touring Hybrid gets an exclusive machine-finished alloy wheel design. Looking at the Civic Hybrid in person, the design looks sporty. It’s a car meant for everyday use, but with a touch of fun. It sits low and wide, with black accents on the grille, mirrors, and machine-cut wheels standing out. The LED DRLs are clean and simple. Nothing flashy here, just neat execution. The roofline slopes like a coupe, and the boot lip is shallow.
Interior
Getting in, visibility is better than expected. Adjusting the 8-way powered seat to someone who is 5’8” tall, the front view is excellent. The mirrors are small, which is typical for Honda, even on the CR-V Hybrid. Rear visibility isn’t great, the rear window is quite narrow, but manageable.

The cabin is familiar if you’ve been in the CR-V Hybrid. The center of the steering wheel is plastic, but the wheel itself feels better with synthetic wrapping. The interior is practical, with plenty of physical buttons. Climate controls use chrome knobs that feel solid. The seats are firm but supportive. Driving position is excellent, and you feel ready to push the car in corners or on twisty roads.
The gear selector is small and easy to use. The 9-inch touchscreen, which supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, is compact. There’s a fully-digital gauge cluster, which is a relatively new feature for the Civic. The CR-V Hybrid will begin offering the same feature for MY2026.

In the back, headroom is limited for someone 5’8”. Taller passengers who are six feet and above may find longer journeys uncomfortable. Average-height adults will be fine. Legroom is tight, as expected in a small ICE-based car. There’s a center armrest and two cupholders. Realistically, it’s best for four average-sized adults.
Specifications
The 2025 Civic Hybrid uses a 2.0L Atkinson cycle engine that develops 141 hp at 6,000 rpm, and 134 lb.-ft at 4,500 rpm. The electric motor generates 181 hp and 232 lb.-ft, and the system transfers drive via an e-CVT. The combined system output is 200 hp, and it delivers an impressive 49 mpg (EPA-est. combined).

The car is fitted with 18-inch alloy wheels with matte gray inserts. It offers 14.8 cu. ft of boot space, 99.0 cu. ft of passenger space, and a turning diameter of 38.1 ft.
Pricing
The 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid comes in two variants, Sport Hybrid priced at $28,950, and Sport Touring Hybrid, priced at $31,950 (figures are MSRP and do not include the destination and handling (DPH) fees). Its chief rivals are the Toyota Corolla Hybrid and the Toyota Prius Hybrid.
